Mushroom sauce

Make Mushroom Sauce at home

 

Best accompanied with steak

Serves 4


2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp olive oil

2 garlic cloves- crushed

300g mixed mushrooms, swiss brown, oyster, button etc. – sliced

125 mls red wine

250 mls beef stock

4 tbsp cream

step by step Method

Heat butter and olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add garlic and mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until golden.

Add wine and allow to bubble until reduced by half. Add the beef stock and simmer 2-3 minutes or until slightly thickened. Whisk in cream, season with salt and pepper.

Serve with your favorite steak.
